Leeds is a hub for creatives and community. There are many places and opportunities to get involved, learn and observe art. Here at Leeds Creatives we wanted to go out and find some of the many places for you, so you can go and see for yourselves and don’t just take our word for it.
North Bar – 24 New Briggate, Leeds, LS1 6NU.
North Bar tucks itself away in the Leeds City Centre, offering not only Exciting Food but also a range of drinks. The casual atmosphere and art decorations give the bar a relaxed place to get inspiration and see some art of different mediums from local Leeds artists. All work is available for Sale also, giving you a chance to take your own bit of local art home and to support an artist. The Artist that was hanging up was a Leeds based artist Ellen Dixon

Café 164 – Munro House, Duke St, Leeds, LS9 8AG.
Café 164 is a hub of community; the café is always buzzing with people. The café walls are filled with an artist’s work. “We curate exhibitions, and work with artists, universities and arts organisations, to create interesting shows for the walls of our beloved space.” – Leeds gallery.com Currently the artwork that is hanging up in the Café is ‘From Angler Fish To Helicopters…’. By local artist Mick Marston.
Munro House Shop & Gallery- Munro House, Duke St, Leeds, LS9 8AG.
Connected to Café 164 is the currently known ‘Colours May Vary’ shop and gallery. They sell and show local artists work. The quiet and colourful space sells the work of artists and also shows large art pieces. Check out more at Coloursmayvary.com.
130 Vicar Lane – 130 Vicar Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS2 7NL.
“The big idea behind 130 Vicar Lane is to create a place where the city’s young people can gain insight into creative industries and learn new skills in a creative setting. So, if you’re aged between 18 and 30, you can take part in their workshops and events, as well as showcasing your work in their new Vicar Lane venue.” – Leeds-list.com. 130 Vicar lane is an art space located in the Leeds City Centre, making a space for young people to connect through and create art.
The Brunswick – The Brunswick, 82 North Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS2 7PN.
The Brunswick is a combined place of food, drinks and art. The Brunswick mostly advertises themselves as a foodie place, however they also have space upstairs to hire out gallery space. There are often different collections of local artists work at different times. Based in the Leeds City Centre it is an easily accessible hub for creatives to access.
